Verizon iPhone means expanded reach for Cellit clients

If you heard a loud noise from the River North area of Chicago yesterday, it was probably the Cellit team cheering the announcement that Verizon will begin selling the iPhone in February. We have created dozens of iPhone and iPad apps for our Cellit Studio and Cellit Classified clients. Cellit Classifieds 2.0 Delivers Text Messaging, Mobile Web, Apps, More for Today’s Newspapers

Cellit, a leading provider of mobile information platforms for the print, broadcast, and real estate industries, announced today the launch of Cellit Classifieds 2.0, an update to the company`s leading newspaper classifieds mobility solution. The new version of Cellit Classifieds features extended streaming video support and a suite of custom-branded iPhone and Android applications.

Powering the mobile efforts of Chicago Tribune, Hartford Courant, Baltimore Sun,For Rent Magazine, and EmploymentGuide, Cellit has been a leading provider of mobile information systems for nearly five years. Cellit Classifieds has maintained its market leading position by providing a suite of features-including text-for-information systems, photo delivery, and custom-branded mobile web sites-at a price point capable of generating substantial return on investment. With Cellit Classifieds, publishers have created multiple additional revenue streams, including “pay per lead” systems and up-selling mobile placement. Many of Cellit`s clients have seen instant returns of investment within the first two to three months.

“In today`s print environment, it is critical that every effort-including mobile-must generate positive ROI for the publication from day one,” said David Wachs, president of Cellit. “We are proud to boast substantial revenue lift for our clients within a few short months of implementing the Cellit Classified platform while providing additional tools to the reader.”

The core of Cellit Classifieds is a content management system for mobile interaction. In newspapers and magazines powered by Cellit`s solution, readers can “text in” to receive additional information on products or services listed in the classifieds section. Additionally, Cellit provides custom-branded mobile web (“WAP”) sites to enable users to browse and search all listings from their phone. These listings also include maps and driving directions, as well as the ability for the reader to request additional information delivered via email or fax.

Cellit is now also providing streaming video and a suite of custom-branded iPhone and Google Android applications as part of Cellit Classifieds.

“The mobile channel is evolving at a tremendous rate,” continued Wachs, “and the publisher must evolve with it. As such, we are proud to announce our new streaming video and application additions.”

“Now, each listing in Cellit Classifieds can contain a video clip, which can be streamed to the user`s handset, in the best format for the specific phone and carrier,” added Meredith Krantz, manager of Cellit Classifieds sales. “Additionally, as iPhone and Android interest continues to grow, we are thrilled to provide our publishers their own fully-branded phone applications to distribute through the Apple App Store and Google Market. These apps extend the interactivity even more, with location-based features, dynamic mapping, rich user interfaces, and advanced searching. We are thrilled to continue helping publishers exceed every expectation of the reader and advertiser alike.”

For Rent Media Solutions leverages all aspects of the Cellit Classifieds solution, and an early adopter of Cellit`s phone application technology.

“Through our relationship with Cellit, we have been able to deliver mobile text messaging and a mobile web sites faster and for a lower total cost of ownership than through any other means, including developing internally,” said Michael D`Alba, Director of Mobile Marketing, For Rent Media Solutions. “Furthermore, the streaming video and applications suite allow us to continue to bring substantial additional value to our advertisers and increase the lead over our competition and provide additional opportunities for us to monetize our client`s content.”

Over 75,000 people have downloaded applications powered by Cellit`s technology on iPhone and Android platforms. Custom-branded Blackberry applications are expected by December of this year.

Cellit Unveils Coupon Redemption Widgit at In-Store Marketing Expo

(LAS VEGAS) — Cellit announced today the launch of their stand-alone coupon redemption Widgit® at the In-Store Marketing Institute Expo. This new Widgit enables retailers and QSR brands the ability to redeem and track mobile coupons in real-time directly through their Windows-based point of sale system, without costly integration.

“We have had significant interest in a way to quickly track coupons delivered to the mobile phone,” said David Wachs, President of Cellit. “While we have been delivering mobile coupons for years now, our new Widgit enables a higher level of integration with our clients, virtually eliminating the need for them to change their business processes to accept mobile coupons. The Widgit provides the flexibility to work on multiple POS systems without any significant technical installation and can be set up within minutes on most systems.”

The system is already in use across several Cellit clients, ranging from lodging and casino installations, to franchised food outlets. Running in the background behind the POS system, the Widgit can be quickly activated to enter redemption codes before or during the customer checkout process. The Widgit is tied into Cellit’s real-time database to ensure accurate reporting and redemption information.

“It’s another way that we are trying to create powerful, yet simple-to-use solutions to meet the precise needs of our clients,” Wachs said. “We are thrilled by the immediate interest in the system from our existing client base and are proud to unveil the system to the public at the In-Store Marketing Expo.”

The Widgit complements the Cellit Studio platform, a web-based system for managing mobile marketing campaigns and CRM initiatives. Through Cellit Studio, Cellit clients can create and deploy campaigns ranging from text-to-vote and text-to-win to alerts and surveys. Cellit Studio’s mobile couponing engine provides a robust system for delivering unique coupon codes to each customer, enabling completely track-able offers and a high level of offer targeting.
“Cellit Studio was designed from the start to provide uniquely track-able coupon codes within each offer”, continued Wachs. “Now, the store clerk no longer has to log on to the Cellit Studio web site to redeem the coupons and ensure their validity. The user simply presses a hotkey from within their POS and the Widgit appears. It is a simple solution to the complex problem of mobile coupon redemptions.”

The Widgit can be installed within a few minutes on any point of sale system connected to the internet, running Windows 95 or above. For clients requiring a higher level of integration with their POS and business processes, Cellit also offers a complete programming API.

The In-Store Marketing Expo is being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 12-14th, 2008, where Cellit is an exhibitor at Booth #484.

AIR Enters Agreement with Cellit to Provide Instant Mobile Access to Commercial Property Data

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AIR Commercial Real Estate Association of Los Angeles announces its agreement with Cellit, LLC to provide end-users with instant mobile access to property data for each of the 8,000 industrial properties in the association’s MULTIPLE listing system.

AIR will provide this mobile technology service to its members beginning this month for no additional charge.

Through Cellit’s service, inquiring lessees and buyers of AIR member listed properties can send a text message containing a unique keyword to a special five-digit phone number, both of which are shown on the property’s sign. Within seconds, the inquirer will receive pertinent property information, including price, square footage, and electrical capacity, directly to their cell phone. Photos of the property can also be sent to certain phones. The broker immediately receives the prospect’s phone number for follow-up.

“We understand the value of providing innovative and valuable tools to our members,” said Timothy Hayes, executive director of AIR. “We are proud to make available to AIR broker members a tool that not only provides instant information to prospective lessees and buyers, but also creates leads for the listing agent. We feel this tool will help our member brokers serve their clients better and help set us apart as a forward-thinking organization.”

Hayes said AIR is pragmatically investing in the explosive growth of mobile technology. According to the Mobile Marketing Association, more than eight billion text messages are sent every month in the United States, he noted.

“With more than a third of the 180 million mobile phone subscribers using data services, AIR sees a growing trend and understands the importance of distributing information directly to the customer’s cell phone,” Hayes said.

David Wachs, president of Cellit, added: “AIR is a true innovator in the commercial property industry. We are thrilled to bring our cutting-edge mobile solutions to the member brokers of AIR. Mobile marketing can be extremely powerful, and by working with Cellit, AIR will realize the technology’s full potential.” He noted that Cellit works with all major wireless carriers and is available on approximately 98 percent of all handsets in the U.S. Cellit plans to work with AIR to develop additional mobile tools in the months ahead.
