Loyalty Clubs go Mobile with Cellit

(Chicago) Cellit, a leading provider of mobile marketing solutions, announced today updates to their mobile couponing software systems. Core to these new releases is the inclusion of mobile loyalty club functionality. In addition to redeeming text message-based coupons, these solutions allow restaurants and stores to keep track of loyalty “points” with every purchase. Upon reaching specified point totals, special offers and rewards can be delivered to the user’s cell phone. This new loyalty feature is available immediately on the Widgit®, Cellit’s point of sale overlay software, and the iWidgit®, enabling redemption and loyalty tracking from any iPod Touch or iPhone.

Both the Widgit and the iWidgit enable the simple tracking, validation and redemption of mobile coupons, via easy-to-implement solutions. The Widgit installs on any Windows-based point of sale, adding a user-definable hotkey or touch-screen button for coupon redemption. Upon pressing the hotkey, the Widgit appears, allowing the clerk to redeem the coupon and provides feedback, informing the clerk if the coupon is valid or has already been redeemed. After the transaction is complete, the Widgit disappears, minimizing changes to the clerk’s workflow. The Widgit has generated substantial acclaim from Cellit’s clients for requiring no integration with the underlying POS software. The iWidgit, released in early February, provides the same functionality on an iPhone or iPod Touch. Now, both systems also enable loyalty rewards.

“Unlike mobile coupon redemption, which requires a unique coupon code, the loyalty functionality simply requires a phone number,” said David Wachs, President of Cellit. “Every time someone checks out at a store, or finishes their order at a restaurant, the clerk can ask if the customer would like to receive mobile loyalty points. The clerk then simply enters their phone number in the Widgit or iWidgit. If the customer is not currently part of the loyalty program, they will receive a text message asking them to confirm joining, and if they are, they will receive a text notification of the additional loyalty point. The store or restaurant can then use our messaging platforms to deliver offers to customers upon reaching certain point totals.”

The loyalty platform is compatible with Cellit Studio, Cellit’s premier mobile campaign management platform.

“Perhaps the most exciting part of the loyalty functionality is its effect on the growth of the mobile club,” continued Wachs. “With every purchase, the user will be asked to join the mobile club. This constant call to action should greatly accelerate mobile club adoption for our clients. Additionally, unlike punch-card- or stamp-based systems, our mobile loyalty program virtually eliminates the risk of fraud. ”

Cellit currently sees many of its mobile couponing clients experiencing coupon redemption rates of twenty percent or greater. Cellit believes the new loyalty features will grow the pool of redeemers, thereby accelerating the return on investment for its clients.

“The new loyalty features in the Widgit and iWidgit prove how Cellit is on the forefront of practical mobile marketing technology,” Wachs continued. “We pride ourselves on delivering solutions that are simple to integrate into the existing work environment, while providing maximum benefit. We are excited to see the impact this new feature set will have with our customers.”

The Widgit and iWidgit are available for immediate download. To use either, you must have a Cellit Studio account.

Introducing the Cellit Widgit

We often use our blog to write posts on industry trends and general forces affecting the mobile landscape.  However, sometimes we fail to talk about the obvious: how we, Cellit, are changing our industry.

Cellit is currently rolling out a number of new products: iPhone apps, Android apps, more text messaging platforms, and even one “super secret” system we’ll be announcing later in the year that revolutionizes the mobile couponing industry.  For now, however, I’d like to discuss one of our most useful, most practical, and best-kept secrets:  the Widgit.

Simply put, the Widgit allows businesses, small and large, to loop mobile marketing into their business processes.  It quickly and easily integrates mobile marketing within the the store or restaurant’s point of sale (POS) system, enabling our clients to track coupon redemption and prevent over-redemption.  It’s simple, it’s effective, and it installs in about 2 minutes on any Windows-based POS system.

Cellit is all about working with our clients to develop solutions that work.  Recently, many of our QSR clients expressed the need for a version of the software that doesn’t require a keyboard.  Now, the Widgit works with touchscreens too!

The user literally draws a “mobile coupon” button on their POS system, using our tool.  When the user taps this new button with their finger, the Widgit appears.  Everybody at Cellit, and each of our clients using the system love it.

Of course, the Widgit ties directly in with our CouponZap and CellitStudio campaign management systems, so all coupon redemptions are tracked in real-time.  To learn more, please give us a call and we’d be happy to arrange a demo.

Cellit Unveils Coupon Redemption Widgit at In-Store Marketing Expo

(LAS VEGAS) — Cellit announced today the launch of their stand-alone coupon redemption Widgit® at the In-Store Marketing Institute Expo. This new Widgit enables retailers and QSR brands the ability to redeem and track mobile coupons in real-time directly through their Windows-based point of sale system, without costly integration.

“We have had significant interest in a way to quickly track coupons delivered to the mobile phone,” said David Wachs, President of Cellit. “While we have been delivering mobile coupons for years now, our new Widgit enables a higher level of integration with our clients, virtually eliminating the need for them to change their business processes to accept mobile coupons. The Widgit provides the flexibility to work on multiple POS systems without any significant technical installation and can be set up within minutes on most systems.”

The system is already in use across several Cellit clients, ranging from lodging and casino installations, to franchised food outlets. Running in the background behind the POS system, the Widgit can be quickly activated to enter redemption codes before or during the customer checkout process. The Widgit is tied into Cellit’s real-time database to ensure accurate reporting and redemption information.

“It’s another way that we are trying to create powerful, yet simple-to-use solutions to meet the precise needs of our clients,” Wachs said. “We are thrilled by the immediate interest in the system from our existing client base and are proud to unveil the system to the public at the In-Store Marketing Expo.”

The Widgit complements the Cellit Studio platform, a web-based system for managing mobile marketing campaigns and CRM initiatives. Through Cellit Studio, Cellit clients can create and deploy campaigns ranging from text-to-vote and text-to-win to alerts and surveys. Cellit Studio’s mobile couponing engine provides a robust system for delivering unique coupon codes to each customer, enabling completely track-able offers and a high level of offer targeting.
“Cellit Studio was designed from the start to provide uniquely track-able coupon codes within each offer”, continued Wachs. “Now, the store clerk no longer has to log on to the Cellit Studio web site to redeem the coupons and ensure their validity. The user simply presses a hotkey from within their POS and the Widgit appears. It is a simple solution to the complex problem of mobile coupon redemptions.”

The Widgit can be installed within a few minutes on any point of sale system connected to the internet, running Windows 95 or above. For clients requiring a higher level of integration with their POS and business processes, Cellit also offers a complete programming API.

The In-Store Marketing Expo is being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 12-14th, 2008, where Cellit is an exhibitor at Booth #484.
