(Chicago) Cellit, a leading provider of mobile marketing solutions, announced today the launch of iWidgit®, their new handheld mobile coupon redemption system for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This new app provides retailers and restaurants a simple way to redeem and track mobile coupons from a handheld device, without the need for costly, difficult, or intrusive POS integration.
The iWidgit application brings Cellit’s industry leading mobile coupon redemption system to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Providing flexibility and portability, this application allows both small businesses owners with no formal point-of-sale system and businesses needing a portable solution (such as bars and nightclubs) to collect and redeem mobile coupons in an easy to use platform.
Two of Cellit’s core offerings, Cellit Studio and CouponZap, enable retailers and restaurants the ability to send targeted alerts and coupons directly to the cell phones of their clientele. Each coupon is tagged with a unique coupon code. In order to maximize their use, a coupon redemption system should be in place to track who is coming in and what offers they are redeeming.
“Cellit offers an array of tools to enable coupon redemption, ranging from simple web site input boxes to the Widgit (a stand-alone program that installs on most POS systems) to complex API integration,” said David Wachs, President of Cellit. “The iWidgit is the most flexible redemption system yet, requiring no computer whatsoever. Now, mobile coupons can be redeemed in nearly any environment, as long as there is an iPhone or an iPod with WiFi available.”
With a graphical interface designed for ease of use, the iWidgit gives business owners the ability to redeem the randomly generated unique coupon codes created by the Cellit Studio mobile couponing system. The application takes advantage of either the local WiFi connection or the iPhones cellular data service to connect to Cellit’s servers, record the submission, check to see if the coupon is still valid or has already been redeemed and return a success or failure message.
“The iWidgit is another example of how Cellit continually strives to cater to the changing and growing demands of our clients,” Wachs continued. “We are thrilled by the immediate interest in the system from our existing client base and excited to offer this solution at no additional cost to any of our clients.”
The iWidgit is available for free from the Apple App store. To use the iWidgit, you must have a Cellit Studio or CouponZap account.
