Cellit, a leading provider of mobile information platforms for the print, broadcast, and real estate industries, announced today the launch of Cellit Classifieds 2.0, an update to the company`s leading newspaper classifieds mobility solution. The new version of Cellit Classifieds features extended streaming video support and a suite of custom-branded iPhone and Android applications.

Powering the mobile efforts of Chicago Tribune, Hartford Courant, Baltimore Sun,For Rent Magazine, and EmploymentGuide, Cellit has been a leading provider of mobile information systems for nearly five years. Cellit Classifieds has maintained its market leading position by providing a suite of features-including text-for-information systems, photo delivery, and custom-branded mobile web sites-at a price point capable of generating substantial return on investment. With Cellit Classifieds, publishers have created multiple additional revenue streams, including “pay per lead” systems and up-selling mobile placement. Many of Cellit`s clients have seen instant returns of investment within the first two to three months.

“In today`s print environment, it is critical that every effort-including mobile-must generate positive ROI for the publication from day one,” said David Wachs, president of Cellit. “We are proud to boast substantial revenue lift for our clients within a few short months of implementing the Cellit Classified platform while providing additional tools to the reader.”

The core of Cellit Classifieds is a content management system for mobile interaction. In newspapers and magazines powered by Cellit`s solution, readers can “text in” to receive additional information on products or services listed in the classifieds section. Additionally, Cellit provides custom-branded mobile web (“WAP”) sites to enable users to browse and search all listings from their phone. These listings also include maps and driving directions, as well as the ability for the reader to request additional information delivered via email or fax.

Cellit is now also providing streaming video and a suite of custom-branded iPhone and Google Android applications as part of Cellit Classifieds.

“The mobile channel is evolving at a tremendous rate,” continued Wachs, “and the publisher must evolve with it. As such, we are proud to announce our new streaming video and application additions.”

“Now, each listing in Cellit Classifieds can contain a video clip, which can be streamed to the user`s handset, in the best format for the specific phone and carrier,” added Meredith Krantz, manager of Cellit Classifieds sales. “Additionally, as iPhone and Android interest continues to grow, we are thrilled to provide our publishers their own fully-branded phone applications to distribute through the Apple App Store and Google Market. These apps extend the interactivity even more, with location-based features, dynamic mapping, rich user interfaces, and advanced searching. We are thrilled to continue helping publishers exceed every expectation of the reader and advertiser alike.”

For Rent Media Solutions leverages all aspects of the Cellit Classifieds solution, and an early adopter of Cellit`s phone application technology.

“Through our relationship with Cellit, we have been able to deliver mobile text messaging and a mobile web sites faster and for a lower total cost of ownership than through any other means, including developing internally,” said Michael D`Alba, Director of Mobile Marketing, For Rent Media Solutions. “Furthermore, the streaming video and applications suite allow us to continue to bring substantial additional value to our advertisers and increase the lead over our competition and provide additional opportunities for us to monetize our client`s content.”

Over 75,000 people have downloaded applications powered by Cellit`s technology on iPhone and Android platforms. Custom-branded Blackberry applications are expected by December of this year.
